2022 NFL KICKOFF SEASON

A Tale of two defences

Thursday, September 8th marked the beginning of the 2022 NFL season, and to start it off would be an explosive Buffalo Bills team eager to play since last years playoff showdown vs the reigning Super Bowl champs the Los Angeles Rams. Receiving the ball first would be Buffalo led by an early MVP candidate Josh Allen at QB. Allen looking to increase his MVP stock by starting the game with a perfect drive resulting in a touchdown to Gabe Davis showed how much of a threat the Bills offense will be this season. The Rams on the other hand couldn’t ever get their offense fully functioning showcased by Matthew Stafford’s 3 interception to 1 touchdown. The end result was a dominant performance from Buffalo to top the current Super Bowl champs 31-10 leaving a bittersweet taste to fans expecting a close game, but also a hopeful insight into what could be a Super Bowl contending team in the Buffalo Bills.

Steelers 2022 Season

Every franchise and its fans at the beginning of a new season cross their fingers hoping that “this may be the year we go all the way,” but only one can stand at the top. Coming off a long 2021 season ending in a shallow playoff run, the Pittsburgh Steelers are starting the new 2022 season with a young and ambitious group. The hopes of a historically great franchise to capture a 7th title could soon be in the cards. With young talent that could establish a dominant team for years to come, the Steelers have a lot to look forward to this year. A cast including Chase Claypoole, Diontae Johnson, Najee Harris, and a promising QB like Kenny Pickett really opens up the options for the Steelers new offense. But of course, “defense wins championships,” and the Steelers certainly aren’t lacking in that department, from longtime defensive end Cam Heyward to secondary threat Minkah Fitzpatrick, and to the reigning Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt, there’s a heap of talent that still has room to improve (and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to pick them up in your fantasy league.) With both sides of the ball looking promising, the 2022 Steelers are going to be a team to keep your eye on.

An uneasy start into a hopeful finish?

The 2022 Steelers have had, well, a less than fortunate start to the season, with injuries and inexperience being the main components to this tragedy. Being now 8 weeks into the season, it’s now the time to push on the gas and propel the team into at least the wildcard slot of the playoffs. Against the Philadelphia Eagles is the perfect proving ground to demonstrate that the Steelers may have been down but certainly not out. With TJ Watt being possibly added back into the fold this week, the team’s defense is one step closer to being at 100 percent. The offensive side of the ball isn’t without its struggles, after all it feels as though the starting quarterback hasn’t been set in stone yet. With a throwaway QB from the Chicago Bears and a young talent not yet bloomed, it would appear that the Steelers offense won’t be established as a dominant force for a while. However, that doesn’t mean that the season is quite over just yet, with 9 more weeks left a lot can happen, just gotta keep your fingers crossed for a miracle.
